Our story

When renowned bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana (Mr Lyan) met Ireland’s first female-founded whiskey bonder, Louise McGuane (J.J. Corry), Fierfield was born.

A shared vision of celebrating Ireland’s history and landscape through locally-sourced ingredients now encompasses a community of rural producers who we proudly call friends – from bread and butter makers to heritage orchard keepers.

In this way, Fierfield’s uniquely creative blends both reflect and help safeguard the amazing produce of the Irish countryside.

Our name reflects our story, with Ryan and Louise chancing upon the word Fier while delving into local history. An old Celtic term for companion, it perfectly summed up their friendship as well as their collaborations with rural producers.

The Celtic theme continues across the brand’s design, with each blend symbolised by an Ogham Few – characters from an ancient alphabet that are often found etched into local stones.
